Default Urgent, chesk the tightness of the steering gear bolts!

Went to schedule an appointment to get new shoes and possibly a new track bar, found out that the steering bolts holding the steering gear were about 1" backed out. My mechanic tightened them up and one broke. The truck is scheduled to go in to the shop for tires, passenger side tie rod end and retighten/extract/new bolt on wednesday.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen that.
Has the gearbox been replaced recently?

Strange that one broke. Those bolts are normally very, very tight! I had one heck of a time breaking them loose when I changed my gearbox.
