Default 94 RAM/Pilot House street rod build

Welcome to my build thread. I restored my great grandfather's 1951 B3d 1 ton truck and it started me on a journey I'm enjoying very much. I've met many good people and learned tons. After that restoration, I decided I wanted a vehicle that went over 47mph. With my experience on the restoration and living in Minnesota with one of the largest vehicles shows in the country, I decided on a street rod. So I looked around and found some old 50's Dodge cabs and bought my friends 1993 Dodge RAM 2500 turbo diesel for the power train and frame. Hopefully you will follow along and enjoy my time on this project.

A few things I will be doing:
putting it on air ride
extending the cab to make a suicide rear door on both sides
flat bed stake sides to haul stuff
air horns
tip up front end similar to semis
retain the butterfly wing hood for low level maintenance
POTENTIALLY a train horn for kicks
engine mods to increase efficiency and power

so here are some pics things.

spent the day cutting cabs up...now the parts go will go off for blasting prior to puzzling back together. I toyed with the idea of making the rear doors 24" but it seems to stretch the cab too much so I think I'm gonna go with the original 18" size I had planned. I split the cab down the back middle to widen the back to keep the sides of the back angling out as it goes back. The rear of the front cab half I cut the center out to do that. Helping me today (and thru the cab build) is Bob my local paint guy, I'm paying him to help and teach me what to do, especially the cab roof rebuild as it is compound curves all over...I'll get to learn how to English wheel!
