Default Exhaust Brake

Guess what?? My wife gave me permission to get an exhaust brake!!! I know that I should have a lock up controller, but I also need 60# exhaust springs. My biggest question is this: where can I get the best deal? I found one place where I can get the brake and springs for $818.

$818 isn't bad.

I paid $750 for mine back in 2003. I've got a Jacobs brake from the Dodge Dealer and was covered under my warranty. I gather your looking at PacBrake?

While I was looking over this thread, I found they sell rear diff covers (been considering on a over size one for some time) and from what I seen, they can provide me with one that will save me about $60 from other places I've been looking at.

Since it has been to cold and wet for me to go experiment with my truck for a lock up switch I have been giving the switch idea a bit of thought. My truck has an "early model" 47RE and the PCM won't work with a switch for lock up. all it does is put my transmission into limp. So, what I was wondering, does anybody know IF I put a resister in the switch wiring what would happen? I am thinking that with a switch just to ground the PCM sees that as a short circuit thus triggering limp. I wonder what size resister I should think about?

I would try the resistor there is a low value like 10-13 ohm that is used. IIRC...

That is what I am thinking too. I am going to set up a switch with alligator clips and try different values to see what works better. With the rain and snow there is here I won't be doing much with it until next week it looks like.....
