I agree with that, but how can there be a loss of drive pressure when the engine is actually putting out just about all the torque it is capable of? That is what I just don't understand. I can bark the turbo when I let out of it too quickly or when the transmission shifts into O/D with the boost pressure at 10 psi or above and the rpm drops suddenly, but on a steady pull? There must be a reasonable explanation.......

I was told that is is a loss of drive pressure causing it to bark. This turbo has had the exhaust housing "updated" according to the shop I got it from about 12 years ago. I don't know what was done, but if memory serves me correctly, the exhaust was made more free flowing. That allows some of the exhaust to 'slip' past the wheel making the drive pressure even less to the turbine. Make sense?
