I sure wish the seat in my truck looked that good! Mine is getting rough..... Funny about the fooler not working. Something seems goofy to me there.

Good news and bad news. Good news is it is installed and the interior is back together. Bad news is I still don't have a working high idle fooler.
The vinyl wrap arrived Friday and I covered the panel that night. It is a 3M product with air release(no air bubbles). I like the color and it works with the interior IMO. Today I finished reinstalling all the switches and wired up the clutch switch. I am not sharing the location of that switch though. I have soldered in new wire twice in the old switch and once in the new one and they both have done the same thing every time. I don't know if the additional wire is changing the resistance or what? I used about 4 ft of 16 gauge wire each time. That is why there is two holes in the panel. I plan to get it working, just not sure when. The weather is warming up and the snow is gone, once the rain washes the roads the truck is coming out. I can't wait.

Did you try OHMing the wiring to see if it is an open circuit? The only other thing I can think of is to try a resistor that has less resistance, but I don't know how much. Do you know what resistor is in place now? Would it be possible to try one with 10% less resistance?
The console looks good! The switches are well within reach!

IT WORKS!!!! I went and read some threads and came to find out the ground wire in with the wires is used. I never spliced it in a wire for it. Installed it in the console today and went for a drive. The console is not in the way of shifting and the arm rest is at the right height for me. I am calling this project done.

Glad to find out you got it fixed! Did Ed tell you how to fix it or did you figure it out by yourself? How about a final finished picture for us to oogle at?

I figured this one out. I never heard back from Ed. I read through a lot of threads on the forums and found the answer. There is a ground wire(this is what I call it since it is a bare wire) in with the 4 insulated wires and I didn't think I needed to use it since there is only two sensors with 2 wires each. My first harness would have worked if I spliced in a wire for it too.

I scanned the faceplate of the fooler and printed it on adhesive backed paper. I may try to find something glossy that I can print on. But this will work for now.

I'm glad you figured it out. I also wonder about the lack of communication about the fooler.....
Anyhow, the console looks great! That is a job well done!

Thank you very much MnTom. I appreciate the help along the way from the people here. All ready thinking about the next project, a G56 conversion. I was working on a deal for a trans last fall and it fell through. My goal is have most of the parts by fall if it all goes to plan. If it happens I will share my experience with you guys.

I have heard that GM used the same G56 transmission and it is a direct bolt in. I was also told that they were quite plentiful and less expensive too. That may be something to look into.....
