Default Smarty touch install on my 05

Well since I had never installed gauges on my 05 since owning it and wanting to go a digital gauge route like edge but just didn't see what I liked until Smarty came with the touch system. Sold my Smarty Jr and ordered a touch system with the egt kit. Went the easy route and mounted the probe on the top side of the manifold for now, may change it to the collector in the future.

I found a nice open cubby where on some rigs houses a fuse block but was open and the perfect size for the smarty controller and egt connector on the driver side of the dash, there was just the perfect size opening for the cables to fit through in the dash framework.

Got it all installed after a hiccup with a cable and remote controller that smarty replaced right away for me got it all programmed and running. I have been playing with different settings and dashboard layouts and have found the one to my liking so far.

Strange, there shouldn't be a problem with pictures. Just out of curiosity, why did you put the pyrometer probe where you did? Just an easy spot? Does the CR have the same problem with number 6 piston running the warmest?

Put it there because it was easy and I didn't feel like standing on my head that day trying to drill into the collector, it is pretty tight down there. There is supposed to be a slight difference in temps from one spot to another the collector being the hotter of the 2 the collector on a 3rd gen manifold is not divided like a second gen from what I have read is so you are measuring the whole of the exh. I thought it would be a good experience plus in the future I was thinking about adding a drive pressure gauge so it works either way. I was thinking that measuring closer to the head would be a bit warmer.

Well, that makes sense since the manifold is a bit different that a second gen. I can see where it would be a royal PITA to put it in the collector. I wonder why there is no divider there anymore?
