It sure does. But.....I still have no idea what would cause the accumulator or the evaporator to jolt like that. Especially given the fact that the compressor is sucking from the accumulator too.

If there is a slug of oil/contaminants in the accumulator it could act as a plug until the compressor pulls the suction line down to where it forces the vapor to start flowing through the slug causing the jolt. Try putting a set of gauges on the system when you know it is going to "burp" and see what if the suction gauge drops and all the sudden jumps up in pressure.

Since they'll work on any vehicle, why not? I dont think they're terribly expensive and ya cant have enough special tools.
