Default Front Axle

Has anyone ever taken axles out of a new "Super Duty" F-250 and put them in a 97 F-250 to get rid of the ifs axle. Two reason i am thinking this is a price i can get both for what it would cost to get just the front for the 97. The other it will give me 3.73 instead of 4.10

Sorry I can'r help here. But I'd lie to see how this goes.

Have you done any measurements to see how close this swap will come ? And the odd ball things like tieing up shocks, drive shaft and such ?

Sounds a lot like the only thing that is different is the yoke on the rear axle. Sounds like some guys have swapped the yoke and were able to bolt everything right in. The front shaft I am not sure about. I heard that there is a possibility it may need shortened an inch. Also the yoke on the front diff is somewhat different. I read where one person pulled the yoke off the transfer case and put the yoke off of a Super Duty in its place and then was able to bolt in the SD driveshaft.
