Default I'm looking to firm up auto shifting and slushiness

As title states, I'm on the quest to firm up shifting (more positive engagement) as well as try to take some "slushiness" out of the auto trans, if it's at all possible.

Trans: 46RE (little brother to the 2G Diesel variant 47RE)
Truck: 2002 2500 QCSB4WD 360 Magnum

I know a shiftkit, such as Transgo, will firm up the shifting, but what about between the shifts, like pulling a grade from a stop.. It feels less than optimum, but it's not slipping.. Nothing wrong with the trans (aside from not being a 5-holer with a 3-pedal), just trying to see if I can do something to improve it.. This trans wastes A LOT of forward power..

From what I recall (ain't much some days....) you would be looking at installing a shift kit and possibly a better converter. You can try shooting Goerends an e-mail and see if they have suggestions for you or maybe even try Jags Diesel for suggestions or Transgo. I am sure there are many others too.

Duct Tape can't fix stupid, BUT it can muffle the sound
