Default Turbo PSI Adjustment

Ive played around with turbos before but this may be a dumb question. How can one adjust the psi that a turbo puts out? I was reading about the ATS Aurora Compound set up and it said boost levels are adjustable down to 40 psi. How does one go about that?

The way I am thinking that they do this is either with a boost elbow or they use the wastegate settings to lower the pressures put out by the turbos. The boost elbow is set to allow a small percentage of boost through, therefore increasing the pressure that is produced by the turbo. Adjusting the wastegate is a little harder because you can overboost the turbo and cause it to blow up, possibly damaging the engine.

Also, you will need a boost fooler on your truck, so that it won't defuel at 22psi.

Smarty has boost fooling though......Im just having a tough time deciding between ATS Twins or a Industrial Injection Silver Bullet turbo....

You would probably be better off with the twins. You get better spooling with them rather than a laggy bigger single.

On an auto I would agree with Tom. Although I am really happy with my IISB64, really isnt too laggy, but I can wind it up in each gear a little more to clear my cloud.

I ordered an ATS Aurora 3000. Good enough for me. Bolts straight on and no hardware like studs needed.

Fellas! Just put my Aurora 3000 on and she rips!!!!! 42psi on my gauges, and it screams with low EGTs!
