I just re-read the first post. IF it only turned over 1/2 revolution and everything quit you have a bad connection somewhere. That would mean look at ALL connections that are common to both batteries. That would mean the cable to the starter from the left battery. Make sure that you check the ground cables for both batteries too. It could also mean that the starter crapped out too. If it is the starter and you have a couple of days then you could put in a set of Larry Bs supersize contacts in and fix your starter good, or you could go to NAPA or someplace like that for a rebuilt starter.
edit: You beat me to the post!! Glad you got it going.

Most of the time the problems with a block heater are from a bad power cord. Try checking the continuity between the prongs on the plug. If you get no continuity then unscrew the cord off of the block heater (unscrew the nut and pull the connector straight out), and check the heater itself. Check to make sure that there is NO continuity between the heater prongs and the metal. If there is the heater is shot. Look at the connector that goes on the heater for a burned spot. If you need a cord you can get one at most auto parts stores or even Cummins.

Default New issue

So, going down the free way yesterday, with my lower two grille inserts in, and my plow on, towing a 7x14 enclosed trailer .. . . . my ECT shot to 235 degrees in a matter of 3 minutes at 70 mph.

I then slowed down to 55 and for my temps came down a little, but my EGTs were pounding on the door of 1100 degrees the whole trip. . . . I think I need a bigger turbo.

And next time I take the plow AND trailer at once, I am gonna remove my grille inserts lol

I figured I can do 80 all day long with my plow and my EGTS are only about 850, and my coolant is running 220, but add that trailer it and BAM that puts the icing on the cake, even empty lmao. Oh well, lesson learned

Even 220 is a little warm in my book, but at least you can go down the road again!! Does your truck have an HY on it or is it an HX?

It's that damn HY, I know Snyder has an HX he is willing to sell me, but I want to get the cash first.

The HX should probably help out a little bit, and then I can have a working wastegate again.

I am sure having a stock air box doesn't help either, I check my filter gauge, and it was 75% down. . . my airfilter is less than 10k miles old and it's clean.

I have an HX on mine and the EGTs do run a lot lower than an HY. I very rarely have to even think about the EGT getting to high and I have seen 1400* on Nikki's truck set up just about the same with an HY.

I think if your going to spend a little might be worthwhile to upgrade the turbo a bit. Maybe an HX 40 or a 35/40 hybrid.

What can those be had for? I am sure I will be beating the crap out if it while plowing like I do the hy and don't want to worry abput snapping a shaft either so a hybrid would probably be better?

If you look around you can find a decent deal on an HX. I saw one claimed to be new HX on E-Bay for under $500. Call CSnyder and see what he has laying around.
