Default he351

So, swapping a HE351 Turbo onto a 24 valve Cummins. . . whats the best way to do so?

And what size injectors are recommeneded? Max boost? Are they decent to runs twins with on a 2nd gen with the VP44?

From what I have been able to find out you should gain a few ponies, and be able to push around 40PSI with it. It really isn't that much bigger that what you have now since they are used on newer CR trucks.

going from an HY I think it would be a HUGE difference

My hope is run run 150 horse injectors, and an HE351, then later down the road twin it. Would 150s be enough for nice twins with a 351?

My understanding is the HE351 is basically an updated HY35. The compressor wheel is about 2mm larger, that's about it except it will give you a bit more boost.

Here is something I found that may be of interest:
Quote:
The HE351VE is pretty much tapped-out around 550 +/- hp...Plus your EGT's would be screaming at that point...Especially anything beyond that.

You can stack a larger one on top of it and have twins that can carry you to over 1,000hp.

But standing alone, the HE351VE will probably be sent into orbit before you hit 600hp.

If you want a good, quick-spooling single that can handle up to 800+ hp then my suggestion is you need to get an Industrial Injection SilverBullet 66/74/14 turbo.

hy35= 56/60/9
hx35= 56/60/12
he341= 54/58/9
he351= 60/60/9

So I suppose that is true, I wonder if it would be worth it, or just get and HX and use with twins later. Or if an he351 with 150 sticks would rock

The 150s probably wouldn't be a bad combination with a 351. I don't know if I would want to go with much bigger injectors with it though.

I don't want it to get too terrible hot either, because of plowing, and towing 10k trailers.

So I guess I need to figure out if the 351 is a more viable option, or stick with the HX I plan on buying.

I have an HX on my truck and my EGTs are a lot lower than Nikki's EGTs. She has an HY on hers and the only differences between the two trucks is my timing is about 1/2 a degree more advanced and she has a 4" exhaust with mine being stock size. I can pull my fiver and boat (CGVW 17k+) just about any way I want and the EGTs don't get much above 1250*. The bigger exhaust housing is a big help. In my opinion you would be farther ahead to put the HX on for now and use the HE to build a set of twins if you want them.

Well, the other day pulling my 7x14 enclosed trailer, and my plow on the front, I was holding 1100 degrees with my adr off. The trailer was empty lol

So maybe ill get the hx and the he mount the hx for now and either resll the he or use it in twins later

Chris got any ideas?
