Default New guy

Hello, new guy from CT here. I am considering a diesel for my next truck so I figured I would lurk here for a while and try to learn a thing or two. I'm interested in diesels for their longevity and mileage (and the great sounds and smells), I don't do any heavy towing. Thanks in advance for the hospitality!

Welcome, Chuck! When you find your diesel you will really like it! Most of the older ones get about 20 MPG daily driving and about 12 MPG towing so they are a lot more economical than a lot of people think! A 12 valve Cummins or a 7.3 Ford seem to be the most well liked, but the 6.6 Duramax is no slouch either!

Thanks everyone! I have been leaning toward the dodge since I have had a couple of their trucks in the past with good luck but there seems to be a lot more Fords available in my area. Time will tell, I think I will get the holidays out of the way before I make a move.
