Default 24v P-pump

Alright folks my truck's Bosch VP 44 injection pump went out so now Im faced with just replacing it or going on over to the P7100!?!? So who out there has done this swap and where is the best place to purchase all the parts so that I can play the numbers game?

Thank you in advance for the help and info!

You would be farther ahead (financially) to put another VP on your truck. To put a P pump on you would need to pull the cam to replace the gear case, plus a lift pump, custom injector lines, etc.... IF you want prices, your best bet would be to get ahold of member CSnyder.

$900 for Bosch VP44 and 4 -6 hours labor or $2900 very conservatively and days of labor. Nothing wrong with a VP 44 if you have all the precautions in place like a good supply pump and pressure gauge.

Thank you for the info and the concerns it does help with the decision making process. I am still wondering if the ppump would out last a rebuilt VP 44

Yes, a P-pump would out last a VP 44, but with conversion costs at about three times what a VP costs you can change the pump and keep going for about 400,000 miles (figuring 100k miles per pump).

The easiest way to get the parts for the swap is to purchase a 12 valve for cheap. Then part out the vehicle to help cover the cost of the swap. This way you have everything necessary beforehand to do the swap. Once you get this done, you can give ISX a call and he can tune your truck.

Thank you ST!!! I am really curious about doing this swap. I understand there is more funds involved and the labor is considerably more but Ive read several good things about this swap!
