Swipe the card again and it'll do another 75. A lot of pumps around here are the same way.

Tried that and it didn't work..... FRUSTRATING.... I get home later that night and my bank's fraud protection dep't called. Seems as the place where I tried to get fuel first was trying to put $1 (yes, one dollar) on my card and it threw a big red flag. So I asked if they could up the limit on the card since I have a 36 gallon tank and at $4 a gallon it is hard to fill up. The lady I was talking to said something about $120 now. We'll see....

They do the same thing here lol. Not sure why it's so weird there. They put $1 on it for some reason, I'm thinking just to show that you have used the card to fill up. It always takes a day for them to register the actual price which replaces the $1. I don't know if they credit it back when they register the price or what but I never see the dollar in the end, the real price replaces it.

Alright I just read into it and it seems the $1 thing is a verification deal. Maybe to make sure your credit card actually works before you try and steal $75 worth... They do it to every single one of my fuel transactions.

Well, the last 1000 miles I averaged 20.8 mpg. Approximately 75 miles of that was pulling my fifth wheel, so the numbers aren't quite what they seem. My normal fuel mileage that I get with my fiver at the speed I was running is about 11 mpg. I paid $195 for diesel and $63.16 for propane. That gives me a total of $258.16 for fuel or $.258 per mile for fuel cost. Does that seem reasonable?

That seems a little high. For the most part I get about $0.16 per mile of fuel cost.

How much are you paying for propane and Diesel?

You should be down to about $.17 -.18 per mile.

Diesel has been running right around $3.99 per gallon, and propane with road tax is $3.16 per gallon. I was a little disappointed with the cost. I need to go through my wiring for the propane system. Sometimes it doesn't feel like it is working.
edit: I just looked at my fuel book and I purchased 48.72 gallons of diesel, and 18.8 gallons of propane.

Well, the next tank results...... 657 miles using 12.3 gallons of propane with 29.3 gallons of fuel. that comes out to 22.4 MPG and about 75 miles of that was pulling my fifth wheel and I did not baby it at all pulling it so I am happy with the mileage. I have NEVER had that many miles on one tank of fuel before especially running about 70 mph as much as I have.
The propane ran out at about 1/4 tank (I just did some more adjusting). I went to where I have been buying my propane and the guy that assists me said " Here is a copy of what you took for your records. This one is on me. Have a great weekend!". So I don't know what the cost would have been, but the fuel was $111.05 so it came out to 16.9 cents per mile.

Let's see what you get when you take a trip to Wy & pull all the I25 grades? I averaged 12mpg in my rig and with a whiney turbo.

Well, about four years ago I went to Yellowstone pulling my fiver and got anywhere from 8.5 MPG (boost leak) to 14.5 MPG. That was running I 90 to US 16 across Powder River Pass and into Cody. Coming back up Powder River Pass my headgasket started leaking water right by the t'stat.....
