I have NEVER had that many miles on one tank of fuel before especially running about 70 mph as much as I have.
The propane ran out at about 1/4 tank (I just did some more adjusting). I went to where I have been buying my propane and the guy that assists me said " Here is a copy of what you took for your records. This one is on me. Have a great weekend!". So I don't know what the cost would have been, but the fuel was $111.05 so it came out to 16.9 cents per mile.
Now you are getting close to me. How does it feel to be able to go that far and not be looking for a fuel stop?

You might have to tweak it a little more to get the 1-1 ratio that you seem to need.

I just cut the propane back just a little more so maybe I am going to get the 1:1 ratio or somewhat close. The propane don't quite hit like it did before, but I can still feel it so we shall see what happens. It is strange to go that far with out stopping for fuel! If I would have had to pay for the propane then it would have added about 6 cents per mile for fuel cost which would put the fuel cost at about 22 cents per mile. If I would have run straight diesel I probably would have gotten about 18 MPG. At 18 MPG I would have used about 36.5 gallons and at $3.779 it would have been $137.93 for a cost of 20.9 cents per mile. I still don't know if it is really that 'inexpensive' to run propane.

You might try calling around for propane by the gallon prices. They may even have a lower fuel price for propane as a road fuel elsewhere.

Here propane is 2.27 per gallon for road fuel. My system is setup for a 3:1 ratio, 3 gallons of diesel to 1 gallon of propane. Just remember that propane expands to about 275 gaseous gallons from liquid gallons, so you are using quite a bit of propane.

Remember that you drive 55 mph or slower(due to roads). He stated that he was going 75 mph, the savings are there, just missing because he is not going 55 mph. I am sure that if he went 55 mph, he would probably be getting about 25-26 mpg or more.

Well, on straight diesel I have gotten as high as 23.4 MPG driving 55-60 MPH. This tank full I ran most of it at 70 MPH AND pulled my fiver at 70 MPH for about 65 miles. I still got 657 miles out of this tank full and still had about 3/8 of a tank left. Normally at 70 MPH with my fiver I get about 10 MPG so getting 22+ MPG out of this tank full wasn't bad at all in my opinion. Stodg73 hit it pretty close.....

I just got home from a 350 mile trip. Camped out for 2 days as well I still got just barely 12.9 or 13.0 MPG hauling the RV around 55-60 MPH. That's even loaded with water and everything.

State law in Idaho is 65 MPH for towing regardless of the posted speed limit. So if its 75 MPH on the interstate your limited to 65. All other lower speed limit must be followed.

Being my trailer tires on the RV are limited to 65 MPH I rather keep them cooler by staying away from the maximum operation speeds.
