Default Harmonic balancer

Harmonic balancer was wobbling so wound up having to replace it was an easy job no puller needed just worked it side to side came right off. I would not have even noticed it but I had to replace the fan clutch & when I was letting the truck run & looking at the fan I noticed the balancer was wobbling all over the place I have looked at the seal on the balancer many times but never noticed anything till I removed it. FYI you should probably visually inspect your harmonic balancer with the motor running I wouldn't have even noticed it otherwise.

If you look at it there are 2 dots, one on each side of the rubber that should line up with each other on the face of the dampner. The standard inspection is to see if the rubber has slipped if the 2 dots do not line up anymore. The dots look like small center punch marks.

Yep they can have either mark, I have seen them both ways on different engines. Hard to keep everything straight when one used to work on everything over the years.

Balancer...

Sometimes the rubber ring piece can start protruding out as well. That is what mine was doing. The lines still matched up but the ring was coming out.

I've see a few thread about balancers that I decided to check mine out and no problems here the rubber is not swollen and the tick marks are lined up.
