That's why you end up looking at the side of the gear case for the timing. At least that what I do...

Yeah, I think I'm gonna make a spreadsheet on timing. To me the tranny makes a difference, the speed you tow, if you tow, the axle ratio, what climate you live in, not sure what else there is. If you advance too much, it won't start in north dakota, if you retard to much you lose all your cruising efficiency. There's definitely power differences between all the settings.
