Default Dodge Cummins NV5600 Clutch Problems

When backing up for a long distance, the clutch will engage while pushed in, causing me to turn the truck off in order to get the transmission out of gear.

Do I need a new clutch master/slave cylinder?

Yes to confirm mine was going out I pumped the clutch pedal & it would let me put the truck in gear. Buy the hole assembly so you don't have to bleed it & don't cut the white tabs till you have the push rod bolted up to the bell housing you will need a small razor blade or exact-o knife to cut the white tabs after everything is bolted up.

I just buy the master and slave separate and bleed it myself then install it. As for the white tabs they are meant to be left alone and will break free and first press of the clutch.

Chicken poop! I replaced my master while the system was in the truck. Of course my clutch leg still hurts and that was 2.5 years ago.
