Actually i was in the process of it but his dad was too busy telling me how much he knows about everything on the planet and how he has a body shop and was REALLY too concerned with talking me down on price to be bothered with so i guess they can start alllllll over at the beginning like I had to. I'm not TOO incredibly concerned with year but I'm thinking 04/05 or newer but I'm thinking 150,000 miles or less. Is there anything in particular to watch out for with the newer cummins? (Kinda like the VP44 on the older trucks)

About the only problem I am aware of is injectors failing that seems to be more due to filtration.

On the CR trucks, the injectors go anywhere between 150-170k, some earlier, some later. Also look out for someone that has changed injectors and did not put in new injector tube/lines. These tend to start leaking and drain all the pressure from the Bosch CP3.
