I read something the other day about gale banks wanting clean power and had no problem working with the DPF in fact apparently he worked with the EPA to get what he wanted passed. Well everyone loves edge products and crap that produces more smoke has been on the market for a decade. It even tells you that the DPF delete is illegal and not to use it on the road on edge's site. So I am wondering if gale didn't fill the EPA in on the truth. I assume edge is a serious competitor to them.

I completely agree. Guaranteed a main contributor in this diesel green EPA movement towards cleaning up diesel exhaust is a result of the past decade of popular rush for massive easy electronic diesel HP gains and all the guys who love to run around fogging up the streets with clouds of black smoke. Its only a matter of time before you anger enough people who clan together to stop the tom foolery. Everyone will still want the HP so we'll all just have to pay more money for the same HP but now it comes with CARB approval and less smoke.

Oh and by the way, I'm sure it was a good read but the link didn't work.....or doesn't work now.

Ya, the link expired, but the gist of it was Edge (and others) that made electronic enhancements for diesel engines were fined $500,000 for pollution violations. Here is one where Cummins is fined for emissions: http://www2.epa.gov/enforcement/cummins-inc-settlement

Why is everything solved with more money? It becomes so blatant that its not about the air quality but about conforming.

This world is all screwed up. Now you know why the new Cummins trucks are nearly a house payment now.

There isn't a problem out there that can't be fixed with out more money at least as any part of the government thinks. I do have question about the money...... Where does it wind up? Cummins alone paid $2.1 million in 2010. Does the EPA use it for operating expenses or what?

The government isn't in the business of making a profit so really that money generally goes to big houses, big bonuses, bigger pensions, and the occasional big parties with more illicit things going on than we can probably imagine.....
