Why did you have to back off? You should have been able to roll right along.

I am pulling a 5th wheel at 15k. Gross weight around 23k on my 2500 with 3:55's. I haul it over the Blue Ridge mountains without much trouble. I use 5th alot on those trips, but would rather do that than have 4:10's. I have never towed with an auto to know the difference though. I dont tow mine but 5 or 6 times a year and the rest of the time I am just running the highway. Thats another reason I would not want them.
