Did you figure out what is going on? Check with Maxtorq to see about transmission shops he may know about. You can also get parts from him to do it yourself too.

I'll have to leave you in MaxTorq's and MnTom's hand for transmission shops. Auto's are not my forte'... The only thing I could suggest is think about your goals and be very clear to the transmission builder of what you plan on doing with the truck. Injectors, power modules, towing or not, etc.

If you don't have a trans temp gauge I highly suggest you get one.

Dozens of ways to build an auto. You more that welcome to call and chat. I have more fun building autos than manuals especially the NV and G's.

Luis, make sure you decide where you want to be power wise and what you want to do with your truck so you only need to go through the transmission once. That will make the decision of what needs to be done to the tranny.

MnTom,
My truck is going to have the alignment done tomorrow along with the added cam for the caster
so, did you come up with the specs from experience or from some other source? I'll make sure that they set the alignment to those specs.

Again thanks
luis

I copied the specs from here: http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/00_steer_specs.html Read the comments at the bottom of the page and it will explain a lot of what needs to be done. From what I have read you should be able to have the caster maxed out and it should be good. I don't know if the same numbers work for a 2wd.

OK. I am really curious what you find and what fixes it.

Well here goes,
Had the truck at the alignment shop yesterday and while waiting for them to align it, the tech came to me and asked for the specs that they did last week, I asked why, his reply was that they had a different reading this time and he couldn't give a reason for it. So, here's what they set it to: before - left front camber, -0.1 caster 3.4 toe 0.08
right '' '' -0.1 '' 3.6 '' -0.02
total toe 0.06 steer ahead 0.05

rear left camber 0.0 toe 0.31 right -0.3 toe -0.26
total toe 0.05 thrust angle 0.28

current measurements;
left front camber -0.1 caster 3.6 toe 0.01
right '' '' -0.2 '' 3.7 '' 0.03
total toe 0.04 steer ahead -0.01

left rear, camber 0.0 toe 0.35
right '' '' -0.3 '' -0.27
total toe 0.08 thrust angle 0.31
I didn't get charged for this, he said to replace my rancho shocks with monomax shocks
( my ranchos are less than 8 months old) he stated that more than likely it would fix it.
I asked for a warranty, he said no. This is why I gave up years ago, I just lived with it. The tranny is my last resort.
